Climext high-pressure misting is the essential solution for creating and controlling a microclimate, thanks to its hygro/thermostatic control unit, which is essential for the optimum development of your crops, by controlling humidity and/or lowering the ambient temperature. Your water consumption will be reduced and your plants preserved.

Storage phase

The greatest difficulty for fruit and vegetable growers lies in the just-in-time management of the time between harvesting the produce and selling it. Generally stored in cold rooms, fruit and vegetables dry out quickly.

A cold room is cooled to positive values by evaporators, which dry out the air considerably. As a result, the water contained in the fresh produce stored there, generally fruit and vegetables, evaporates, causing the air to dry out:

  • Rapid ageing of these foodstuffs and contributes to weight loss

In both cases, the financial loss can represent significant sums for the producer, exhibitor, distributor and retailer.

High Pressure Fogging adapts and provides economical and ecological solutions throughout the product development, storage and sales process.

Fogging can also provide solutions. When you start fogging, you’ll see:

  • A 9°C drop in air temperature at the inlet to the air-cooled refrigeration units.
  • A 6°C drop in the cold water temperature in the water circuit leaving the air-cooled heaters.
  • A 4°C drop in the hot water temperature in the water circuit at the inlet to the air-cooled heaters.

Installing a Climext high-pressure misting system in a cold room rehydrates the air to the desired level (80% for example, controlled by a central management unit). As a result:

  • Weight loss has virtually stopped
  • Product ageing is slowed down considerably.

The investment in a Climext high-pressure fogging system is generally derisory (depending on the size of the cold room and the volumes circulating) in view of the gains made on products sold rather than thrown away!

Product sales phase

This final stage for the product is in fact the first contact with the customer. Its success depends to a large extent on compliance with the processes mastered upstream.

However, our experience has shown that a high-pressure fogging system can extend the freshness of products on fish, fruit and vegetable stalls, making them more attractive to customers.
